About Cohort
Cohort is an independent research tool that surfaces public data about ACGME-accredited US residency programs. It helps med students filter, compare, and decide — and tells you when a question is outside what it knows.
Data sources
- FREIDA (AMA) — program-level identity, location, salary, visa, composition
- Program websites — resident bios, names, PGY year
- Doximity public profiles — medical school + graduation year enrichment
Data freshness
Last refreshed: 2026-05-01 · Refresh cadence: yearly · Coverage: 50 programs, 3,589 resident bios
Residency data ages fast. Always verify with the program before applying.
What Cohort doesn't have
Step 1 / Step 2 score distributions, board pass rates, match-rate probabilities, LOR data, interview offers. For those, see:
- Residency Explorer (AAMC)
- Doximity Residency Navigator
- FREIDA (AMA)
PII scrub
Resident bios are scraped from public program websites. Before indexing, we remove email addresses, phone numbers, and direct contact information. If you find PII that slipped through, please report it — we'll remove it within 48 hours.
Disclaimer
Cohort is not affiliated with ACGME, AMA, FREIDA, AAMC, or Doximity. Scraped content remains the property of the source sites. Verify with official sources before making application decisions.
