About Cohort
A research tool for the residency match.
Cohort is a commercial product built by and for people who have lived through the residency application cycle. Every feature exists because the existing tools left a gap.
What Cohort is
Cohort is a specialized question-answering and faceted-browsing surface over a curated corpus of US residency program data — 14,025 ACGME-accredited programs, plus optional resident bio retrieval, comparison views, and a geographic map. Source data comes from FREIDA (AMA), ACGME accreditation records, AAMC publications, Doximity public profiles, and program websites; everything ships with citations to where it came from.
Cohort is sold, not given away. The Free tier exists as a funnel — enough to let a serious applicant decide whether the Pro tier is worth $99 — not as a permanently usable free product.
Who it’s for
- US medical applicants finalizing a 30–80 program ERAS list and tired of rebuilding the same comparison from five tabs.
- IMG applicants who need visa, USMLE pathway, and recent-IMG- match filters surfaced as first-class facets, not buried.
- Career-services offices and residency advisors who advise students 1:1 and need a defensible, freshly cited program database.
What Cohort is not
- Not a match-rate predictor. We surface data; we don’t predict outcomes.
- Not a personal mentor or an advising service.
- Not affiliated with ACGME, AMA, FREIDA, AAMC, ERAS, NRMP, ECFMG, or Doximity.
- Not a substitute for the authoritative source. Always confirm program decisions against ACGME, FREIDA, and the program’s own published materials.
- Not a review site. Resident bios are factual; we do not host reviews.
